 Russell, Kentucky This chair sits broken down and abandoned beside a high school cross country running trail. I suppose it once was a chair for a spotter or timer to sit during a race. After several attempts at it during evening walks, I decided that a closeup picture at 16mm might be the best perspective, catching a bit of the trail for definition. (Someone mentioned a web page collection of abandoned chair pictures with the same title. If you know of such, please leave a comment). One thing about living in the same community for your whole life is that you run across things all the time that bring up forgotten memories. I believe if I had high school to do over again, I'd join up on a cross country track team.
