 Russell, Kentucky It's basketball season at Russell, but that doesn't put a hold on the other sports. Standing here, you can hear the girl's softball team practice on your left while the boy's baseball team make a plink, plink sound to the right. One solitary runner makes laps around the football field behind you. I offer up a few minutes of silence to honor the passing of Don Knotts. Without Mayberry, I don't know if some of us would have made it through college. Just like now, the reruns ran several times a day and they marked a stopping point for a break from studying. To me, Barney was an essential part of the show, without him Andy surely wouldn't have been as successful. This is another blend of a black and white with a color image to give a darker, more dramatic scene.
