![]() From the August 2005 Gallery. August 2005 was not a strong month for my photography but I was able to come up with 3 photographs that I like as much as any that I've shot. In the gallery, you'll find Lunch at C.J. Maggie's that is one of my favorites but was used recently in a contest. Pictured above is Forest in the Rain which is a landscape scene I shot after pulling over beside the Industrial Parkway in Greenup County, Kentucky. This road is perhaps the highest one in the County and gives great views off each side. This particular valley was one that I kept my eye on for quite some time and found it 'just right' during a return trip from Lexington, Kentucky with my son. I pulled over and braved the rain to capture the scene. I loved the photograph but wasn't sure how the post processing would be accepted- but folks seemed to like it as well as I did. The Fallout Shelter photograph was taken after they tore off the modern covering of the old Sears building in downtown Ashland. The owners were applying for funding for renovation and needed to show the original historic exterior for the grant. Sadly, the fallout sign was stolen soon after I took the photograph. As I approach the 2nd anniversary of 4x6, I'm doing a recap of my favorite photographs from the last year. Hope you enjoy them and I appreciate all the visits and comments during the previous year.
