![]() From the January 2006 Gallery. January started off with some reruns but ended up being a pretty strong month for me. I came up with several photographs that I really liked and all of them were local. Not shown here (but recommended) are a series of pictures and stories from the local Jesse Stuart State Nature Preserve, a nice black and white from Huntington, West Virginia, and a Foosball Rocks! photograph that I think really rocks. I had a lot of fun with them. January also seemed to begin a darker style of photography for me. The Green Towel Dispenser was my first try with blending a black and white with a color photograph to give a moody atmosphere, something representing the mood of the scene better than color or monotone by itself. For the photograph of Waiting: 4:25pm, I had been off the path taking pictures for a good while. We often forget the non-photography folks who are along with us, especially when we get engulfed in a subject. My son is always a trooper and puts up with a lot when I take the camera. When I turned around and saw this scene, I immediately thought that it was such a sad feeling. I took the picture then I treated him to dinner. As I approach the 2nd anniversary of 4x6, I'm doing a recap of my favorite photographs from the last year. Hope you enjoy them and I appreciate all the visits and comments during the previous year.
