![]() From the February 2006 Gallery. February was another strong month, something about winter helps a bit I believe. All the shots were local and I continued along with presenting a darker style of photograph, for the most part. Not shown but still favorites are the Ron & Toby Tree that is off a path at Greenbo Lake. Ron and Toby return each year to engrave a new date in the bark to commemorate some special occasion. I was back a few months later and found the 2006 date had been engraved. I wish them all the luck and hope that someday I get to meet them. In February, I began some experimentation with panoramas that I quite loved but wasn't appreciated by others all that well. I still think there's some uses for the effect, though. Highlighted above is a picture of the Camden Park 'Skydiver in the Winter' photograph that I took with the Panasonic superzoom shot at 435mm. I loved the compression effect of the long lens and you probably won't be surprised to find that I took the photograph while sitting at a red light. The W-Hollow Barn electric wires was another favorite and allowed a bit of reminiscing. The day was severely cold and when the sun did come out, I ended up falling down in the mud of the trail with the camera taking a good blow being underneath me. We both ended up being muddy, but no damage to either of us. The photographs were well worth the troubles. As I approach the 2nd anniversary of 4x6, I'm doing a recap of my favorite photographs from the last year. Hope you enjoy them and I appreciate all the visits and comments during the previous year.
