Pendleton

Pendleton Art Center
Ashland, Kentucky

I found this bit of tongue-and-cheek art work in the back hallway of the art center. Tonight was the First Friday Art Walk and it looked to be pretty successful. I first visited the Upstairs Gallery to speak to Laura Moul as she was the featured artist of the month and had a very nice display of her photographs. I had met Laura at the Arts in the Park in Huntington, West Virginia just this summer. The Genuine Junk Band gave a free concert on Winchester Avenue and we enjoyed listening to a few songs while walking on down to the Highland Museum. Admission tonight was free and we viewed a nice art exhibit by the Kentucky Creative Arts Club as well as many of their other exhibits. The Pendleton was also busy with live music and some really nice art. We ran out of time and couldn't visit the Jesse Stuart Foundation, but we did have a relaxing late dinner at C.J. Maggies. Next month, you could do the same so be sure to mark your calendar for the First Friday Art Walk.
