 Gray horses are fascinating to me. There is a British article on genetic research that shows gray horses will nearly always contract melanoma after 10 years old. According to this article, it's felt they all are descended from one gray horse in Europe and one gene controls the gray color . Again supposedly, the color appears sometime after birth as they are born with color. I've never talked to a horseman to confirm this, but it's interesting. Comment (1) | Permalink |
