Light switch abstract

Ashland, Kentucky

I found this scene last night while in downtown Ashland for dinner. I had the 50mm lens and my first thought was to shoot wide open for very shallow depth of field, nearly an abstract. A bit more depth and a bit to the left might have been an alternative photo. Extremely shallow depth of field seems to be something that is either loved or hated, much like the discussion we had at the Ohio Valley Camera Club meeting about vignetting.

I parked under a sign that read 'Free Parking on Saturdays', which gives a bit of humor because parking is free every day since the meters were removed some time ago. Somebody is not paying attention.
