![]() #10 of the Top Ten Shots for the first year. I like this shot because it's simple. We live in an area where the river cuts through the middle of everything, but we largely ignore it. A scene like this is something you'd see while on vacation, so it's exceptionally nice to know it came from my own stomping ground. I was out early that morning on my way to another town. Where we live, you can hop in your car and arrive at your destination in 20 to 25 minutes and brag that you filled your car up in one state, had coffee in another, and maybe breakfast in the 3rd. You would have crossed this river twice. The morning of this shot the temperature was extremely cold, causing fog and steam to rise everywhere. It was one of those mornings where pictures are everywhere, but you know that it would be easy to come away with nothing. I thought of the river and made a quick detour. With the early morning orange color shining through, I was able to get 5 usable pictures within 30 minutes. Quite odd for me. (Note: The end of the first year for 4x6 is nearing. I've posted over 300 pictures, which even surprises me. Many thanks for all the encouragement, advice, arguments, and comments. I'll be posting some of my favorite shots, along with comments, from now until July 8th, which is the one year mark. I've selected 3 runners-up and the top 10. Feel free to tell me what the picture makes you feel, good or bad. That's what it's all about. ) Comment (2) | Permalink |
