Jim's Steak & Spaghetti
Huntington, West Virginia

Yesterday, we visited one of our favorite restaurants and celebrated their 70th anniversary. Jim Tweel opened Jim's Steak & Spaghetti on June 9th, 1938 and worked it constantly until his death 3 years ago on that same date. Jim was the constant door greeter at the restaurant as well as mingling with the crowd and making sure that everything was just right for you. The place was packed yesterday, serving up a limited menu with special prices and free birthday cake.

Someone had made a special birthday cake for the front counter that was decorated with cutout figures of the staff, both past and present, which I photographed for my photo album and made into an oval format.
