Whenever I get a chance during  a visit to Lexington Kentucky, I try to work in a moment to stop at Matthews Garden.  This is a corner lot in the midst of the vast campus that appears, to most folks, to be just an overgrown mess.  But it is such a unique ecosystem, established a century ago by a professor, back when the campus was not quite as big.  A few years ago, the law college had plans to bulldoze and build over the garden.  I have found no news to report about it.  Here is a good article.
