While out on the recent photo safari, we briefly stopped at a country cemetery to look at the graves of relatives. When I was young and bought my first house, it was in the country and I took up cycling for the first time. I had a first-generation mountain bike and would ride some nearby gravel rounds until I climbed the ridge to a country church that I had attended when a small kid. Behind the church was this old cemetery, really peaceful and I'd always take a rest there. Often, the cemetery was the actual destination. A few years later, I began doing some genealogy and mostly I wanted to know about all my grandparents for the last few generations- where did they come from, what did they do, where were they buried. Yes, you guessed it, this cemetery contained a lot of family members. Now there's a busy paved parkway right next to it and it isn't nearly as peaceful- time sure has passed by.

you have to know how.”
